Privacy Policy
Fantascope is made by Mads Bonde, an independent developer. This policy covers the Fantascope iPad app and this website, fantascope.app. The short version: the app collects nothing, and the website stores only what's needed to run the ideas board.
The Fantascope app
- The app does not collect, store or send any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.
- Your projects are saved only on your iPad (and in your iCloud or device backups, if you use them). They leave your iPad only when you export or share them yourself.
- When you import a photo or video, the app reads only the item you pick. It does not get access to the rest of your photo library.
- If the camera is used to take a photo for a drawing, the picture stays on your iPad.
This website
Browsing the website needs no account and sets no tracking cookies. There are no ads or analytics. The site is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes basic technical data (such as your IP address) to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks, as described in Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The ideas board
If you suggest a feature or vote, we store:
- Your suggestion — the title and description you write. Don't include personal information in it; suggestions are public once approved.
- A random voter ID in a cookie on your device, so you can vote only once per idea and undo your vote. It is not linked to your name, email or device.
- A scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address, only to limit how many suggestions can be sent per day and stop spam. The hash changes every day and can't be turned back into your IP address.
To check that you're a person and not a bot, the board uses Cloudflare Turnstile, which may look at technical information about your browser. It does not use the information for advertising.
New suggestions are read by us before they are shown. Suggestions and votes are kept as long as the board runs, unless you ask us to remove them.
If you write to support@fantascope.app, we use your message and email address only to answer you, and don't share them with anyone.
Children
Fantascope is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Your rights
You can ask us to see or delete anything you've posted on the ideas board, or any email you've sent, by writing to support@fantascope.app. If you're in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
